In a mission to discover promising young Korean artists, the Hanwha Foundation of Culture launched the 'Youngmin International Artist Residency Program'. In collaboration with leading artist residencies around the world, we support artists' creative disciplines by providing residency opportunities abroad.
The 'Youngmin International Artist Residency Program' is funded by a generous donation from the late Mrs. Seo Young Min(wife of Hanwha Chairman Kim Seung Yeon), who passed away in 2022. During her lifetime, she was an avid art enthusiast and was interested in nurturing young Korean artists. A part of her estate was donated to found this program.
Through this program, we aim to contribute to developing a sustainable arts ecosystem by helping emerging artists expand the scope of their activities and by creating a networking platform for international exchange.
